Designing Green Walls for Office Cabinets. How We Do It at 4Nature System

A green wall in an office should calm the space and look natural. At 4Nature System, we always start with analysis of lighting, humidity, and how the interior is used. We design an executive office differently than medical space, and differently again than a cosmetic office or consultation zone.

In executive cabinets, calmer compositions appear more frequently, featuring abundant organized greenery with distinct leaf patterns. Such projects integrate well into modern office interiors and help warm spaces without losing professional character.

In medical and cosmetic offices, greenery should primarily build a calmer atmosphere. Plant arrangement, color palette, and proper lighting are crucial here. In projects for Good Time Day Spa and Equinix, we focused precisely on making interiors more welcoming and comfortable for office visitors.

Vertical garden (green wall) step by step

1. Enquiry and preliminary discussions

When we receive an enquiry about a living plant wall, we talk to the client, establish initial assumptions and draw up a first, indicative estimate. We take into account, among other things, the anticipated dimensions of the realisation, its location, plumbing and lighting conditions, as well as the species of plants that the living wall is to consist of (we suggest species from two price groups). At this stage, we already know whether a drain can be made or whether a closed-circuit irrigation system will be needed; we also check whether the ceiling lights will be at the optimum distance from the vertical garden.

2. Official offer, contract and other formalities

Once we have gathered all the necessary information on what the vertical garden is to look like, we can draw up a detailed quotation. Once the cost estimate has been approved, it is time to sign the contract. This sets out the detailed terms of our collaboration and specifies a binding completion date. Both parties have their own responsibilities: the client must ensure the wall is suitable for conversion into a vertical garden and take care of matters such as adequate load-bearing capacity, access to a power socket, a waterproofing layer and the prior removal of skirting boards.

3. Creative part: individual project

Every living wall is like a unique work of art. We design gardens from scratch, selecting plants and arranging them in such a way as to create the desired pattern using their leaves and flowers. We can take the client’s preferences into account or suggest something of our own, whilst of course bearing in mind the initial requirements. We create all our designs with the specific characteristics of the space and its users in mind.

4. Installation of a vertical garden

Once the systemic living wall solution is delivered, we start the installation. We prepare the structure, assemble the installation and finally plant the plants in the module pockets. Because we do this at the very end, all specimens look healthy and fresh. Please note that the installation of the living wall, and especially the planting of the plants, should be the last stage of the project, so that the plants do not get dirty during other construction work.

5. Post-assembly service and further maintenance

After a month or so, we return to the site and check the state of the green wall, whether all the plants have taken in, how the new shoots are looking, whether the irrigation schedule needs any adjustment, etc. If desired, we can carry out further maintenance visits to look after the plants, check the operation of the system, and periodically clean the filters and apply fertilisers and/or sprays. Of course, you can take care of this maintenance yourself. We provide free training. It is important to maintain the plants regularly and check the condition of the garden so that the vertical garden will look perfect for many years.

Green calculator

Living plants can effectively raise indoor humidity.
Case study: to raise the humidity level by 10% in a
m2 room with a temperature of 22 degrees C you need about 10m2 of plants, or 250 plants.
The easiest way to place them is with 4Nature Basic, 4Nature Wall, 4Nature Vitis

Which Plants Does 4Nature System Select for Office Green Walls?

At 4Nature System, we select plants to match interior character and office use. In medical and cosmetic spaces, species with calm form and soft leaf structure work best, such as Spathiphyllum, Calathea, Nephrolepis, or Epipremnum aureum. These compositions help create more comfortable and peaceful atmosphere.

In executive offices and premium spaces, we more often use larger leaves and more organized greenery arrangements. Monstera, Philodendron brasil, and Ficus pumila work particularly well here. With these plants, an executive office with greenery looks modern yet remains natural and welcoming.
The choice of greenery type also matters. Living green walls improve interior perception and room microclimate, while stabilized moss absorbs sound well.

Frequently Asked Questions About Green Wall Installations for Offices

In medical offices, plants with calm form and soft leaf structure work best. At 4Nature System, we often use Spathiphyllum, Calathea, Nephrolepis, and Epipremnum aureum, as they help create more comfortable atmosphere.

Yes, living green walls work very well in medical spaces. Properly selected plants help reduce sterile feeling and positively impact how patients perceive the interior.

Price depends on wall size, plant types, and chosen system. We often design smaller office installations individually to match the solution to specific space and budget.

Yes, vertical gardens integrate very well into modern office spaces and executive cabinets. Greenery helps warm interiors, improves work comfort, and emphasizes company modernity.

No, modern green wall systems are equipped with automatic watering, so daily operations are very limited. Regular service keeps plants in good condition year-round.

In cosmetic offices, we most often use living green walls and nature-inspired compositions. Such solutions help create calmer and more comfortable atmosphere for clients.

Yes, plants help partially absorb sound and limit echo in rooms. This works particularly well in receptions, consultation zones, and larger offices.

Yes, even a small green wall or mobile plant partition can completely change how a small interior is perceived. In smaller offices, we often use compact modules or green installations adapted to available space.

What Green Walls Bring to Offices and Why Do People Respond to Them So Well?

A green wall in an office impacts above all how the entire interior is perceived. Space becomes calmer, less technical, and more welcoming. This is especially important in places where tension or stress may appear before conversation, procedure, or consultation.

In 4Nature System projects, we very often observe that plants:

  • help calm space,
  • improve room acoustics,
  • reduce sterile feeling,
  • support patient stress reduction through greenery,
  • increase waiting comfort,
  • elevate place prestige from entry.

This works particularly strongly in medical and beauty offices. When patients enter the interior, they immediately feel that someone cared about details. This changes how they perceive the entire service.

In executive suites, greenery serves another function – it helps build modern brand image. Today, modern executive offices are increasingly designed according to biophilia and user comfort principles. Companies want spaces that look professional while not being cold. That’s why nature-inspired solutions work so well.

Some clients also pay attention to ESG and employee wellbeing. And no wonder. Greenery significantly impacts how workplaces are perceived. Especially when it appears thoughtfully rather than randomly.

An executive office increasingly becomes a space that both represents the company and improves work comfort. We create solutions that show why greenery plays growing role in such interiors.

Which Office Types Benefit Most from Green Walls?

A vertical garden for an office can be adapted to many different spaces. However, each interior has different needs – some need to calm, others to build prestige, and still others to improve conversation comfort and perception from entry. That’s why at 4Nature System we always match greenery type to specific office function.

Executive Offices and Management Spaces

In such interiors, greenery most often emphasizes company modernity and warms space without losing professional appearance. A well-designed executive office with greenery looks calmer and more impressive.

We most often use here:

  • organized plant arrangements,
  • larger leaves and calm color palette,
  • mobile green partitions and premium walls.

Such solutions work very well in modern office spaces and executive meeting areas. We’ve created similar projects for Warsaw offices and various companies, where greenery was used to warm representative interiors and create more comfortable meeting and work atmosphere.

Dental Offices and Medical Clinics

In medical spaces, greenery helps create calmer atmosphere and reduce anxiety before visits. Patients perceive interiors much better when they’re not completely sterile and cold-looking.

In such places we most often use:

  • plants with soft leaf structure,
  • calm greenery compositions,
  • living walls from plants.

Acoustics and waiting comfort matter greatly here. Greenery helps create more welcoming interior without overwhelming space.

Cosmetic Offices and Beauty Zones

In the beauty industry, a green wall in a cosmetic office very often becomes part of the entire client experience. Greenery builds relaxation atmosphere and emphasizes the aesthetic character of the place.

Cosmetic offices work well with:

  • natural walls of living plants,
  • nature-inspired compositions,
  • green walls combined with soft lighting.

We created such projects for premium spa facilities. Greenery there helps create more comfortable atmosphere from first contact with the interior.

Law Offices, Receptions, and Consultation Zones

In consultation and reception spaces, greenery helps warm interior and improve place perception. Even one green wall can completely change space character.

In such projects we most often see:

  • green walls in receptions,
  • mobile plant partitions,
  • structures combining moss and living plants.

This is shown well in projects for various companies, where greenery became integral part of entire interior arrangement.

Sometimes one green wall is enough. Other times, several smaller modules or a mobile plant partition. Everything depends on office character, available space, and the effect the entire interior should create.

In offices, it’s especially important that greenery looks fresh and aesthetic throughout. Professional green wall care ensures plant health in commercial spaces.

4Nature System Technologies That Work Best in Office Cabinets

An office requires aesthetic solutions that are also technically predictable. That’s why at 4Nature System we develop several different greenery systems that can be adapted to space size and usage.

In offices we most often recommend:

  • modular green walls,
  • lightweight 4Nature Vitis systems,
  • mobile furniture with greenery,
  • green partitions for executive areas,
  • biophilic structures for receptions and waiting zones.

Our furniture with built-in vertical gardens is also very popular. This solution works very well where large green walls aren’t possible or where space needs to be flexible.

In executive cabinets and offices, we often use:

  • 4Nature Basic – mobile modules for zone definition,
  • 4Nature N’joy – green partitions supporting privacy,
  • 4Nature Amstel – shelving with plants for premium offices.

Such solutions allow you to introduce biophilic design in offices even in smaller spaces. Without major renovation. Without building heavy structures.

Well-designed green walls are not just aesthetics but also proper plant care after installation. We handle plant adaptation and green wall service in office spaces and cabinets.

Why Are Green Office Cabinets Increasingly Becoming Part of Brand Strategy?

Just a few years ago, greenery in offices was treated mainly as decoration. Today, companies view it differently. Interiors should support concentration, build client experience, and emphasize brand character. That’s why green office cabinets increasingly become part of company’s entire design strategy.

This is especially visible in:

  • modern executive offices,
  • premium clinics,
  • showrooms,
  • hotels and hospitality spaces,
  • wellness zones,
  • consultation offices.

We’ve also noticed an interesting shift. Clients increasingly ask not only about green wall appearance or vertical gardens, but about how people will feel using the interior. This is where biophilia gains real significance. Not as a catalog trend, but as a way of designing spaces more friendly to humans.

That’s why at 4Nature System we design greenery to be part of daily user experience. It should calm, improve interior perception, and help create places people simply want to return to.
