Office plants should look good all year round, not just for the first few weeks after installation. At 4Nature System we take over the care of your greenery: we check plant condition, watering, substrate and light, and we react to the first signs of decline. What does 4Nature System office plant maintenance cover?
Office plant maintenance covers regular condition assessments and treatments matched to specific species, positions and the conditions inside your office. We do not reduce plant care to watering by the calendar. After all, the same amount of water will not suit a plant standing next to a large glazed façade and one placed several metres away from the window.

This is plant care where we look at the arrangement as a whole. If one plant is clearly weakening, we look for the cause. Sometimes the problem is water, other times light, temperature, dry air or an air-conditioning draught. Regular visits make it easier to spot such changes before they affect a larger part of the greenery.

What does ongoing 4Nature System plant care look like?
Ongoing care begins with an assessment of the greenery and the conditions the plants live in, after which we define the scope and frequency of maintenance. What matters is the number of plants, their species, the size of the arrangement, access to light, the irrigation method and the character of the office itself.
Not every space needs the same schedule. A large reception with a green wall behaves differently from private offices with a few potted plants. A heavily air-conditioned space will have different needs from an office with large glazing and strong sunlight.
As a result, office plant care never becomes yet another task for your team. The greenery has its own caretaker, and the person responsible for the office does not have to wonder who watered the ficus last, and whether it was three days ago or three times this week.
Plant care step by step
1. Initial assessment
We check the plants, their positions, light levels, substrate and any visible problems. At this stage we already know which specimens need immediate intervention and which simply require regular monitoring. We also assess whether the arrangement uses automatic irrigation and which technical components need to be included in the maintenance scope.
2. Care plan
We match treatments and scheduling to what the greenery actually needs. We agree on visit frequency, the scope of work and how to reach us in situations that call for a fast response. The plan takes into account plant species, the size of the arrangement and the character of the office, so care is never based on a single universal template.
3. Regular maintenance
We care for the plants and track changes in their condition. Watering, fertilising, pruning, leaf cleaning and substrate checks all follow the agreed plan. With 4Nature system solutions, we also verify irrigation performance, schedules and filters covered by the contract.
4. Seasonal adjustments
We account for the heating season, air conditioning, changing sunlight and plant growth rates. In winter, office air can be considerably drier; in summer, the angle of incoming light changes. That is why water doses, fertilising and the scope of treatments are adjusted throughout the year instead of repeating the same routine.
5. Response to problems
We identify plants that need extra attention, relocation or replacement. A plant rarely starts looking bad overnight – first the colour of a few leaves changes, then the growth rate or the moisture level in the substrate. Regular checks let us catch those signals before the problem spreads across the arrangement.
Potted plant care in the office – what we look at
With potted plants we look above all at light, substrate, hydration, temperature, leaf condition and how the surroundings affect a given species. Two similar-looking plants standing in different parts of an office may need entirely different care. A good example is Spathiphyllum, the peace lily, alongside Aglaonema. In larger arrangements you will often also find Monstera and various Dracaena varieties.
This is why the question “which plants for the office?” is best paired with a second one: who will look after them afterwards? Even a well-chosen species can lose condition over time if sunlight, furniture layout or the intensity of heating and air conditioning changes. During maintenance we pay attention to how plants respond to available light, substrate moisture and how fast it dries out, dust settling on leaves, dry or damaged plant parts, early signs of pests, and pot size relative to the developing root ball.
